Hip hop legend Adam Horowitz—or “Ad-Rock” from the group Beastie Boys—has partnered with Los Angeles-based vegan shoe company Keep to create a limited edition shoe. Made with nylon cordura—a vegan water-resistant material—the “Keep x Ad-Rock Ramos” shoes feature a midtop design, vegan shearling lining, synthetic down stuffing, and are embroidered with Ad-Rock’s name in magenta. All profits made from the sneaker will be donated to health care organization Planned Parenthood. “Net proceeds of this shoe will be donated to Planned Parenthood because I support a woman’s right to choose, and feel that women should not be punished for making decisions about their own lives and bodies,” Ad Rock says. “If you have similar beliefs, you might wanna grab a pair.” Keep was founded in 2006 with the mission to create vegan and cruelty-free shoes and apparel that also utilize third-party non-profits to audit the working conditions in their production facilities to ensure all of their items are made ethically. Keep x Ad-Rock Ramos shoes are currently available for pre-order for $97 and will ship in February 2017.
