Brooklyn-based vegan shop Dun-Well Doughnuts recently announced plans to open a new brick-and-mortar location on St. Mark’s Place in Manhattan’s East Village. The five-year-old business owned by Dan Dunbar and Christopher Hollowell will serve similar items at its new location, including doughnuts—in rotating flavors such as Boston Cream, Coconut, and Raspberry Chocolate—pull-apart pastries, espresso drinks, Brooklyn egg creams, tea, and lemonade, with future plans to introduce soft-serve ice cream. Local news outlet Gothamist said, “With vegan fervor at an all-time high, these guys don’t have much to worry about.” Admired West Village vegan eatery by CHLOE also recently expanded to the Flatiron district, with a bakery spin-off called “Sweets” in the works.
