Sweet Earth Natural Foods, a vegetarian frozen food brand, was recently featured on FoodNavigator after announcing it was on its way toward securing $20 million in revenue in 2016. Helmed by former Burger King executive Brian Swette, the California-based brand says the secret to its success is that rather than branding itself as a meat-alternative producer, it simply makes “delicious food that happens to contain no meat.” “A lot of our fans are often surprised when they find out that none of our products contain meat,” executive Kelly Swette said. “They buy them because they love the products. Millennials want flavor-forward food that is fun and functional, so we want to take them on a culinary adventure.” The company sells protein-rich vegan meals such as Bean & Mango Cubano bowls, Kyoto Stir Fry, and Moroccan Tagine at more than 10,000 stores including Target, Walmart, and Whole Foods Market.
