Silk Launches Celebrity-Backed “Do Plants” Campaign

Venus Williams and DJ Khaled appear in new TV commercials to propel plant-based foods forward.


Dairy-free brand Silk has just launched a “Do Plants” initiative backed by tennis star Venus Williams and music producer/social media personality DJ Khaled to promote plant-based foods. In two separate currently airing television commercials, both celebrities can be seen consuming Silk almond milk with the “Do Plants” motto superimposed over the images. In the spots, Williams states that “strong is good,” while DJ Khaled is seen preparing an almond milk smoothie before using his famous tagline “another one”—and then makes another. “I love new challenges and finding ways to improve myself,” Khaled said, “and Silk is a key part of my plant-based lifestyle. I hope this campaign will inspire others to give it a try.” Along with these commercials, Silk will keep the plant-based conversation going with a year-long initiative under the hashtag “Path to Plants” digital series featuring celebrity endorsements.
