What can be better than a refreshing fruity popsicle during a heat wave? That same popsicle dunked into a cocktail, that’s what. After first noticing the trend on Instagram, we reached out to Good Pop—the company behind all-fruit popsicles in flavors such as Strawberry Lemonade, Hibiscus Mint, and Coconut Lime—to get the scoop on their brilliant “poptails” creations. Turns out, the idea came from customers who combined Good Pops’ frozen treats with alcoholic beverages. Naturally, we wanted to know more, and the good people with the pops divulged their best poptail combinations. Here are the five drink-and-popsicle pairings sure to help you enjoy the summer.

good pop strawberry
1. Strawberry Pop-Rita
Strawberry margaritas are delicious but time-consuming to make. This shortcut eliminates the need to smash strawberries all afternoon and instead relies on your favorite plain margarita recipe … but with a Strawberry Good Pop as the final ingredient. The real strawberry chunks in the popsicle melt as you sip, turning your ordinary margarita into a berry-hued, tequila-fueled blast.

good pop hibiscus
2. Hibiscus Mint Poptail
To make this dressed-up poptail, pair a dry Prosecco with Good Pop’s Hibiscus Mint flavor. As the popsicle melts, the bubbly takes on a unique tart and minty flavor that’ll impress dinner party guests. Serve alongside a crispy bruschetta appetizer topped with tomatoes, basil, and a drizzle of aged balsamic vinegar.

good pop shandy
3. Pop Shandy
A game-night must-have, this pairing is a take on a summer shandy beer in which a Strawberry Lemonade pop floats in a pint of quality wheat brew. Set out a dozen drinks on the coffee table with a bowl of Cauliflower Buffalo Wings, turn on the big screen, and let the good times roll.

good pop coconut
4. Coconut Lime Pop-Lada
Adding a Coconut Lime popsicle to a rum-based Pina Colada amps up the nutty flavors, while the tartness of the lime provides a welcome citrus kick. For added decadence, slice up a bowl of tropical fruit—pineapple, guava, and papaya—top with a dollop of coconut whipped cream, and enjoy the flavors of paradise wherever you may be.

good pop watermelon
5. Spicy Watermelon Agave
Good Pop captures the freshness of watermelon in these treats that work as a sweet and refreshing accent to a smoky mezcal-based margarita. Dotted with jalapeño slices for spice and served in tumbler glasses with a cayenne-spiked salted rim, these drinks pair perfectly with a platter of chips, guacamole, and salsa.
