A new app is bringing veganism to smartphones with brand new emojis. Nimoji, launched by Nima Labs, offers nearly 50 emojis—including vegan stickers—for users with food intolerances and specific dietary preferences. “Nimoji is for the people who haven’t been able to use the taco, pizza, or beer emojis,” a press release states. “It celebrates food inclusivity, speaks to this community’s passions and daily life, and gives them a voice.” Vegan emojis include an illustrated cow saying “Don’t milk me”; a vegan “badge of honor”; and milk, eggs, and fish icons with a “no” symbol struck through. Last year, rapper Lil B partnered with Follow Your Heart to launch his own vegan-themed emoji keyboard app, complete with anthropomorphic jars of Vegenaise.
