New York-based burger and beer restaurant Black Tap—known for its over-the-top milkshakes dubbed “freakshakes”— partnered with new vegan bakery Sweets by CHLOE to create a limited-edition vegan milkshake. Black Tap chef Joe Isidori and by CHLOE co-founder Samatha Wasser concocted the “Black, White, and Pink” shake that will feature coconut-based ice cream from vegan company Alchemy Creamery, as well as whipped cream and sprinkles, and will be topped with an entire veganized Hostess cupcake and a pink swirly lollipop. Chef and restaurateur Chloe Coscarelli’s vegan restaurant by CHLOE first opened in the West Village in 2015 and has since expanded to several locations in both New York and Los Angeles, with plans for more locations in the works. Coscarelli’s bakery Sweets by CHLOE opened last week next door to by CHLOE’s flagship location, and this current partnership represents Coscarelli’s palatable impact on New York’s dining scene. The indulgent vegan shake will be available on Black Tap’s menu for three days starting September 23.
