The “Vegan Cheesecake Throwdown” will take place November 6 at vegan eatery V Spot Organic in New York City’s East Village neighborhood. The event—a first of its kind in NYC—is hosted by vegan nonprofit U.S. Veg Corp in partnership with the restaurant. Guests will be able to vote for their favorite cheesecakes created by chefs such as Tere Fox from Rockin’ Raw, Katerina Justova of Culiraw, Chef Rootsie from Veggie Grub, and Nancy Grenier from VegNature. The $25 admission includes a tasting of every cheesecake in the competition, chips and salsa provided by V Spot, and a glass of organic Smart Beer. Drink specials such as sangria pitchers, margaritas, and micheladas will also be on offer. U.S. Veg Corp and V Spot previously held similar events—including last year’s “Vegan Mac Throwdown,” a vegan macaroni and cheese competition.
