The Australian branch of international pizza chain Domino’s confirmed this week that it will add vegan cheese to its menus next year. Earlier this month, the pizza company took to Facebook to ask its 1 million followers if they want vegan cheese. “Wow, we are overwhelmed by the response we’ve received to vegan cheese,” Domino’s Australia stated in a follow-up post. “Thank you to everyone who has registered interest so far. We’ve heard you loud and clear. What an exciting 2018 we have in store—watch this space!” The pizza chain is also posting positive responses on Facebook to customers interested in other vegan options such as milkshakes. “Our recent reach-out to Facebook fans has been helpful to gauge just how many pizza lovers are keen to see a vegan cheese option on our menu. We are truly overwhelmed by the response we’ve received and have reported back to our product development team for now.” Competing brand Pizza Hut is also currently testing demand for vegan cheese at five of its United Kingdom locations.
