Upscale vegan restaurant Cruciferous will debut this spring next door to vegan comfort food eatery Doomie’s Home Cookin’ in Los Angeles. The new restaurant is a joint collaboration between Doomie’s—which also opened a wildly popular Toronto location last year—and San Francisco Bay Area catering company S+M Vegan and will feature small, shareable plates. The restaurant’s menu will be comprised of from-scratch pastas, freshly baked bread, fermented vegan nut-based cheeses, and dishes made with preserved produce to serve as “umami boosters.” According to the founders, “Cruciferous will be [a] date-night, market-driven, upscale-casual restaurant … and create a dining destination for vegan and non-vegan food lovers alike.” Additionally, vegan ice cream parlor Cocobella Creamery will join Doomie’s and Cruciferous on the same block when it opens on April 1.
