Savannah, GA will welcome its first all-vegan restaurant, Fox & Fig Café, this fall. The café will be an expansion of a two-location local eatery chain—The Foxy Loxy and The Coffee Fox—operated by the Fox family on the ground floor of Savannah Law School. Fox & Fig will open in two parts: a vegan coffee shop in May and a full-service restaurant in the fall. Once it is fully operational, the restaurant will serve vegan 10-13 brunch options such as burgers, coconut cream milkshakes (created by local company Leopold’s Ice Cream), locally roasted coffee from PERC, cashew-hemp lattes, baked goods, craft beer, and wine. Vegan restaurants across the world are opening in cities where plant-based food was previously hard to come by, including this year’s debut of Sudfeh—the first vegan cafe to open in Palestine.
