Vegan Metal Bar Opens Above Toronto Pizzeria

Toronto-based all-vegan pizza shop Apiecalypse Now! announced this week the opening of a vegan metal-themed bar. The shop’s year-long passion project, called FuBar, is located directly upstairs from the Apiecalypse Now! Bloor street location. FuBar is billed as a “hoser” (a derogatory Canadian term for a hockey fan akin to a “loser”) dive bar and is currently in a soft opening stage serving a limited bar menu that the team expects to populate with an extensive offering of vegan beer, food, and cocktails this summer. For now, the expansion allows customers to eat pizzas—such as The Pig Destroyer Destroyer that comes loaded with five vegan meats and two plant-based cheeses—in the upstairs 26-seat bar area. Within the last year, vegan retail shop The Imperative, vegan fast food joint Doomie’s Home Cookin’, and vegan food truck The Vegan Extremist opened their doors in the Toronto area.
