Lime Crime Launches Vegan Unicorn Hair Dye

The magical line of cruelty-free, imaginative hues make hair pony-perfect without harming animals.

Vegan company Lime Crime recently launched a new hair dye line called Unicorn Hair. The vegan fantasy hair line is made with vegetable dyes, is free of ammonia, and consists of 13 bold colors including Dirty Mermaid (a muted seafoam green), Bunny (a pastel pink), and Pony (an electric violet-purple). The company’s purple-haired CEO Doe Deere spent three years developing the semi-permanent line which is best suited for pre-bleached or light-colored hair. The boldly colored line is fortified with hair conditioners, and according to the company it lasts longer, and “fades gradually and gracefully.” Vegan beauty brands are innovating the industry with playful products—such as Harry Potter-themed makeup brushes launched last year by cosmetic brand Storybook—to prove that testing on animals and using animal products is not necessary to create quality makeup, hair products, or beauty accessories.
