Today, international coffeehouse Starbucks introduced The Cups of Kindness collection, a line of four vegan drinks created to benefit the Born This Way Foundation—singer Lady Gaga’s youth empowerment organization. The line-up consists of two new concoctions, Violet Drink (Very Berry Hibiscus Starbucks Refreshers blended with coconut milk and ice) and Matcha Lemonade (finely ground Teavana matcha green tea and lemonade shaken with ice), along with the existing Pink Drink (Strawberry Açaí Starbucks Refreshers mixed with coconut milk) and the Pink Ombré Drink (Cool Lime Starbucks Refreshers, Teavana Shaken Iced Passion Tango Tea, and coconut milk). Starbucks will donate a minimum of $250,000 (or $0.25 of each sale from the new collection) to Lady Gaga’s foundation, Born This Way, that aims to help children empower themselves to fight bullying, and its new project Channel Kindness—an online platform encouraging young people to document their experiences of compassion in their communities. The vegan collection will be available at participating Starbucks stores across the US and Canada until June 19.
