A magical vegan unicorn brunch will be held at the Newberry Lofts in downtown Los Angeles on June 24. The brunch is hosted through food networking platform Feastly and features the recipes of vegan chef Nicole Derseweh—a social media personality with Le Cordon Bleu culinary training. The $45 brunch will include dishes such as a rainbow cake doughnut (made with matcha, berry, and lemon seed poppy batters) with unicorn embellishments; a color-changing noodle salad adorned with a variety of vegetables; a unicorn benedict made with vegan egg, a funfetti waffle, and doused in a pastel-hued bearnaise sauce. The brunch will also feature several unicorn-themed beverages including an oat milk-based latte (which can be fortified with an almond milk Bailey’s shot for an additional $5), and a melting mimosa (a sparkly popsicle dunked into champagne). The event will also feature a unicorn piñata, photo booth, and sponsors include vegan cheesemaker Miyoko’s Kitchen, Swedish plant-based milk company Oatly, and newly opened vegan ice cream shop Cocobella. Vegans can now indulge in the unicorn trend in many ways, including adding the mythical creature to their beauty routine with newly launched Unicorn Snot lip gloss by FCTRY and rainbow-hued Unicorn Hair dye by Lime Crime.
