Vegan-Friendly 10-Minute FroYo Gadget Debuts

Countertop yogurt-maker The Wim launches with three vegan flavors made with coconut milk.

New gadget The Wim launched recently to fill a gap in the market for making yogurt at home using a method akin to Keurig K-cup coffee. The company currently offers nine flavors called Wim-Bowls—three of which are vegan—and include organic coconut milk-based Banana Bread, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, and Raspberry. Customers insert a Wim-Bowl into the device, add their choice of milk (plant-based milk works well), and The Wim cools the bowl to -10 degrees Celsius before blending the ingredients into frozen yogurt within 10 minutes. The easy-to-clean device—developed by former Google employee Bart Stein—retails for $299 (with five Wim Bowls included), is available on The Wim’s website, and will be launching on Amazon.com later this fall.
