On November 1, Whole Foods Market will debut a special, six-dish vegan holiday meal to hot bar stations nationwide in honor of World Vegan Day. The one-day holiday menu was created by culinary experts on the Whole Foods team (plus chef and author of cookbook On Vegetables Jeremy Fox) and features main dish Romanesco Cauliflower Roast with Miso Bagna Cauda; inventive sides such as Cremini Mushroom Stuffing with Kimchi, Charred Escarole with Tomatoes and Chickpeas, and Roasted Acorn Squash with Maple and Hazelnut Dukkah; and a Frosted Sweet Potato Blondie with Spiced Cashews for dessert. The meal will also be available online and shoppers will receive $5 off (with the code “VEGAN”) on orders placed between November 1 and 6. Last year, Whole Foods celebrated World Vegan Day with a similar offering made by celebrated vegan chefs Richard Landau and Kate Jacoby—owners of award-winning Philadelphia-based restaurant Vedge.
