Vegan-friendly fashion designer Stella McCartney recently launched an “All is Love” breast cancer awareness campaign starring award-winning British actor Idris Elba. As the voice of the campaign’s short film, Elba challenges the taboo of men speaking openly about women’s breasts and the experience of breast cancer by reading a poem with accompanying images of breast cancer survivors. The film follows the launch of McCartney’s limited-edition lingerie set “Rosing Romancing” in pale rose and an “All is Love” red cotton bandana emblazoned with the words “grace, compassion, courage, fortitude.” The proceeds of both pieces will benefit leading charities and support centers worldwide, including the Linda McCartney Centre—a tribute to McCartney’s mother Linda, who died of breast cancer in 1998. As part of the initiative, McCartney will also donate 1,000 of the brand’s “Louise Listening” post-operative mastectomy compression bras to women around the world undergoing breast cancer treatment. “There are so many emotions attached to the tragic realities of having had a double mastectomy,” McCartney said. “And we just wanted to make something that allows women undergoing this to have something to be proud of, something with no shame attached.” McCartney continues to spread compassion through her sustainable and vegan-friendly fashion collections and recently partnered with Adidas to launch a vegan-leather Stan Smith sneaker, dedicated to the tennis star of the same name.
