Mission-driven vegan beauty brand Thrive Causemetics recently donated $250,000 to help the human and animal victims of the recent California wildfires. The woman-led company raised the amount on November 14 when it pledged to donate all of its profits for the day to organizations working to restore the lives of women, animals, and communities displaced by the fires. “When we saw the devastating effect of these fires, our Thrive community mobilized to make a difference,” Thrive Causemetics CEO Karissa Bodnar said. The $250,000 will be equally split between five organizations, including the American Red Cross, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and Humane Society of Ventura County (HSVC). “Rescuing and caring for evacuated animals from the Hill and Woolsey fires has been a tremendous undertaking for us at the shelter, and this donation will help us with our ongoing efforts for months to come,” Greg A. Cooper, HSVC Director of Community Outreach, said. Through its Beauty with a Purpose program, Thrive donates a portion of its sales and beauty products to organizations working with women experiencing cancer, homelessness, and domestic abuse.
