Subway added the Vegan Delite to the menu of its locations in Finland. The new sandwich features a soy-based patty (that Subway describes as “spicy vegan steak”) served with red onion, red pepper, green pepper, carrot, spinach, corn, white pepper, pea, green chili, and garlic. The sandwich can also be customized with a number of vegan-friendly sauces, including barbecue, sweet onion, “spicy,” and red vinegar and oil. The chain first added the option to select Finish locations in early January and expanded the Vegan Delite to menus across the country later in the month. Subway’s announcement follows a similar menu change at McDonald’s, which added the McVegan to its locations across Finland and Sweden late last year. Stateside, Subway launched two vegan sandwich options—the Black Bean and Malibu Garden—in 2015 at 1,000 locations.
