Vegan brand Daiya Foods debuted last week a number of new products, including a line of vegan ice cream bars. The line features four coconut milk-based flavors of chocolate-enrobed ice cream bars: Classic Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Fudge Crunch, Espresso Coffee, and Salted Caramel Swirl. “Plant-based is no longer a fringe movement—it is now mainstream,” Daiya vice president of marketing Michael Lynch said. “Today’s consumers have an appetite for foods that not only taste great but are also better for themselves as well as the planet. At Daiya, we’re addressing this demand by unveiling the most expansive and craveworthy portfolio of plant-based foods in the market.” In addition to the ice cream bar line, the company launched four flavors of frozen burritos that feature Daiya’s reformulated “Cutting Board Style” cheese shreds, yogurt “duets” that combine a coconut cream-based yogurt with crunchy toppings, a plant-based Meatless Meat Lover’s Pizza, and cheese stick snacks—a new, child-friendly format for its original cheeses.
