Vegan restaurant chain by CHLOE recently announced that it raised $31 million in venture capital led by investment firms Bain Capital, Kitchen Fund, Collaborative Fund, and TGP International/Qoot International. “The goal from day one was to bring vegan food to the masses and make it as accessible and as fun as possible,” co-founder Samantha Wasser told media outlet Moneyish. By CHLOE debuted its flagship restaurant in the West Village of New York City in 2015 and has expanded to 10 locations in New York City, Rhode Island, Los Angeles, and Boston. The brand opened its first international location in London in February and is planning to use the new capital to expand to 20 additional United States-based locations, along with outlets across Europe and the Middle East. Celebrated vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli—co-founder of by CHLOE who departed from the business last year—opened her own vegan restaurant, Chef Chloe and the Vegan Café, in Miami in February.
