Gelato bar Snowflake, located in London’s high-end department store Selfridges, recently debuted the Avolato—a vegan gelato made in the shape of an avocado. The new treat is served inside of an avocado skin filled with vegan ice cream that is comprised of 60-percent Hass avocado and features an edible pit made with peanut butter, flax seeds, walnuts, almonds, and soy milk. “It’s not just a new flavor—it is a form of art,” Snowflake head gelato chef Silvia Gaetta told local media outlet Evening Standard. “The customer can eat everything, and at the end there will be no waste because there is only the shell of the avocado.” The Avolato retails for £9.50 ($13.32), weighs 200 grams (seven ounces), and is served with a bamboo spoon.
