Food technology startup JUST will debut a new flavor of its reformulated JUST Cookie Dough this summer. The vegan line will now include three flavors: Chocolate Chip, Birthday Cake, and the newest addition, Chocolate Mint. “We couldn’t be more excited to introduce our new line of Just Cookie Dough in a variety of mouth-watering flavors and expanded product formats across retail and foodservice,” JUST Vice President of Product Development Chris Jones said. JUST partnered with a co-manufacturer to improve the product formulation and refine its processing standards. The brand’s original cookie dough—a product that was a best-seller at a top-three national retailer—will be available at retail outlets in the United States in 14-ounce jars and smaller 1.6-ounce, single-serve snack cups. The products will also be available to foodservice distributors in five-pound tubs, intentionally made larger to make scooping and serving easier. The new products will be presented at the upcoming National Restaurant Association Show on May 19-22. “Just Cookie Dough is more than your average dessert,” Jones said. “We’ve sourced the best ingredients, perfected each flavor, and developed a safe way for consumers of all ages to indulge with every bite that will keep them coming back for more.” While the food startup is best known for its JUST Mayo vegan condiment, JUST debuted its mung bean-based egg replacer JUST Scramble last year and will begin to expand its distribution to grocery stores this summer. The brand is currently using technology to discover a number of plant-based replacements for animal products, and is planning to debut a clean-meat (meat made from a small amount of animal cells in a lab-setting) product this year, which would make it the first company in the world to do so.
