We’re approaching the end of October fast, and we all know what that means: the holiday season is about to begin. If you’re among the nine in 10 Americans planning to celebrate Thanksgiving, you’re probably already thinking about the main event: the food.
Luckily, Whole Foods has just released its 2025 holiday menu, and there are plenty of plant-based options to choose from. We’ve also got the scoop on Thanksgiving snacks and a special festive sandwich. And that’s not all. There’s news from Beyond Meat, Monty’s Good Burger, Eat Just, and more.
Doughlicious
Vegan skillet cookie lands at Whole Foods nationwide
Doughlicious, a popular London-based vegan-friendly cookie dough brand, has partnered with Whole Foods Market to launch its innovative vegan skillet cookie across the US. The skillet cookie dough is available in two flavors: Chocolate Chip & Banana Chunky Oat and Chocolate Chip. Both feature a tasty, crunchy crumble topping.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to unveil our game-changing Cookie Dough Skillet with crumble topping,” said Kathryn Bricken, founder of Doughlicious. “We’ve masterfully combined two beloved desserts—that irresistible gooey cookie dough and perfectly crunchy crumble—into one epic creation. Partnering with Whole Foods to launch this innovation nationwide is a dream come true.”

Trader Joe’s brings back popular Thanksgiving snack, but says goodbye to another holiday favorite
Trader Joe’s is already gearing up for Thanksgiving, and the grocery store chain knows holiday snacks are a must. Head to Trader Joe’s to stock up on its popular Stuffing Seasoned Kettle Chips, which the chain says taste just like a full Thanksgiving meal.
But, it’s not all good news for fans of Trader Joe’s Thanksgiving products. The chain’s cult-favorite Turkey-Less Stuffed Roast With Gravy has been discontinued, Big Box Vegan confirms. The popular roast was first discontinued in 2023, and despite returning for the 2024 holiday season, it will not appear on store shelves this year. Looking for an alternative? The products, produced in limited quantities, can be sampled by ordering through the Beyond Test Kitchen website.

That’s not the only good news from Beyond Meat this week. The brand has also expanded its presence in Walmart stores. Select products—including the Beyond Burger six-pack, Beyond Chicken Pieces, and Beyond Steak Korean BBQ-Style—are now available in nearly 2,000 locations nationwide.

Running a marathon? Look out for Impossible Foods’ pop-up protein bars
Impossible Foods has been hosting pop-up protein bars at major marathon events. On October 12, the brand served up protein-packed snacks to runners and spectators at the Chicago Marathon, and on October 19, it did the same at the Detroit Marathon—with help from vegan athlete Cade Cunningham.
The company has recently been focused on strengthening its reputation as an athlete-friendly brand. Earlier this month, it became the first plant-based meat company to earn NSF Certified for Sport status.

HipCityVeg
HipCityVeg’s new vegan holiday sandwich is a vegan twist on The Wawa Gobbler
HipCityVeg is once again serving up its tasty vegan twist on the famous Wawa Gobbler sandwich: The Stuffer. This hearty sandwich is packed with vegan grilled chicken, onion gravy, tangy cranberry sauce, garlic aioli, and stuffing—and our mouths are watering already.
“We wanted to recreate everything people love about a Thanksgiving leftover sandwich with stuffing, cranberry sauce, mayo, and gravy, but make it entirely plant-based,” Michelle LaVigne, chief operating officer of HipCityVeg, tells VegNews. “The Stuffer keeps the indulgence and nostalgia without the use of animal products.”
Other Thanksgiving specials at HipCityVeg include the Harvest Wrap, Harvest Bowl, and Lite Harvest Plate. “Thanksgiving flavors instantly make people feel warm and happy,” LaVigne adds. “They remind us of family, tradition, and comfort.”
“The Stuffer delivers that [warm holiday] feeling in a handheld, everyday way. It’s cozy and celebratory at the same time, and for our vegan and plant-curious guests, it’s a way to enjoy all those classic holiday flavors without compromise.”
Eat Just
Just Meat lands in US restaurants
Eat Just’s Just Meat is officially launching into foodservice. The brand’s popular plant-based chicken, already available in retail stores, can now be sampled in dishes crafted by chefs. In fact, it’s already being featured by barbecue chef Aaron Franklin, owner of Franklin Barbecue in Austin, TX.
“Chefs like Franklin appreciate that Just Meat cooks, sears, and performs just like conventional meat — and that it offers the same rich, savory flavor they expect,” Kristie Middleton, head of foodservice sales, tells VegNews. “Many have commented on how seamlessly it can integrate into their existing dishes.”
According to Middleton, Just Meat has already outperformed chicken in several blind taste tests, proving its realistic, meat-like taste and texture.
“The response has been overwhelmingly positive—both to the product’s quality and its potential to expand what’s possible for plant-based protein in the kitchen,” she continued.
