Anticipated vegan shoe and apparel collection Miley Cyrus x Converse debuted last week. The collection was designed by the vegan singer Miley Cyrus in collaboration with apparel brand Converse and features 38 items with the singer’s hand-drawn logo. The line includes backpacks, socks, shoes (in flat and platform styles), fitness apparel, and hats—with many items adorned with glitter and paisley prints. Cyrus wore several pieces from her new collection on a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote the line. On the show, the singer revealed that she designed everything in her collection, “right down to the super cute shoelaces.” Cyrus adopted a vegan lifestyle in 2014 and commemorated her dedication to living cruelty-free last year with a tattoo of The Vegan Society’s sunflower logo on her arm. “Can you believe that I am selling clothes?” Cyrus asked Kimmel, after discussing her previous appearance in his show sans clothing. “It almost doesn’t seem right. This is the first time I’ve worn clothes in like eight years.” Cyrus unveiled a gift she brought for Kimmel, a pair of shoes from her collection featuring pink-glitter soles. “I made these unisex so that anyone could wear them,” Cyrus said before revealing that she intentionally designed the socks in her collection to “never get between your toes,” one of her childhood pet-peeves. Cyrus encouraged potential buyers of her clothing to modify her pieces to suit their personal style. “I want people to cut it up,” Cyrus said, “wear it like they want it; style it like they want.”
