Global chain Pizza Hut recently added vegan cheese to the menu of two locations (Waterloo and Marsden Park) in New South Wales, Australia. The pizza chain posted an advertisement on Facebook to reveal its new dairy-free option made with cheese by Australian vegan company Dairy Free Down Under. “Try our new Vegan cheese today,” Pizza Hut captioned a photo that revealed the new option costs A$3 ($2.26) and is subject to a 10-percent surcharge on holidays. Commenters requested that Pizza Hut extend the vegan cheese offering to all locations across Australia. Competing chain Domino’s added vegan cheese—courtesy of United States-based brand Follow Your Heart—to all of its Australian locations in January and teased a cheesy vegan garlic bread option earlier this month.
