Taco Bell Debuts Vegan Chips in Iconic Hot Sauce Flavors

Chain restaurant Taco Bell launched a line of vegan chips this month in flavors inspired by its hot-sauce packets. The brand describes the Classic flavor as “crispy and salty,” while the other two flavors, Mild and Fire, feature spices such as jalapeños, chili peppers, cumin, and paprika that mimic the hot-sauce packets that inspired them. “This launch of our first line of sauce packet-inspired chips gives our fans a new way to access a taste of Taco Bell,” Taco Bell Chief Brand Officer Marisa Thalberg said. “Our sauce packets are one of the brand’s most unique aspects and were the natural choice for both the flavors and packaging of our tortilla chips.” To help its customers order vegan food, Taco Bell launched an extensive “How to Eat Vegan at Taco Bell” guide in 2016 and reformulated its rice to be vegan-certified in 2017.
