New vegan-themed game Kitten Squad debuted last week on the Nintendo Switch console. The game was created by animal-rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and features kitten warriors fighting evil robots to free enslaved animals from exploitation, including cows from the dairy industry, orcas from a SeaWorld-like facility, sheep from wool farmers, and elephants from the circus. “Sadistic robots have enslaved orcas at SeaLand Marine Park,” the game description states. “The evil Sheep Puncher robot has kidnapped sheep for the twisted wool industry. Only the Kitten Squad is up to the task of saving these gentle animals.” The game can be played with up to four players and features weapons such as carrot guns and yarn balls. Kitten Squad—which is free to access—can also be played on Steam for operating systems Windows PC, and Mac and iOS and Android devices.
