Adelaide, Australia-based vegetarian eatery Two-Bit Villains recently launched “Two-Pub Villians,” a weekly vegan night that features plant-based versions of popular pub food. The menu, served every Thursday, consists of seitan-based popcorn chicken, sandwiches, burgers, nachos, Buffalo tofu, and mac and cheese bites. Two-Bit is also serving a vegan “Villain O’ Fish” (a riff on the popular Filet-O-Fish served at McDonald’s but made with tofu and jackfruit). The pub polled its Instagram followers last month to determine if it should add the Villain O’ Fish to its permanent menu and 81 percent responded with a resounding “yes.” The sandwich was so popular that Two-Bit added another plant-based option to the menu, The Other Fish Burger made with minted pea mayo and charred hearts of romaine.
