Finland-based chocolate brand Goodio will debut its oat milk-based chocolate bars in the United States in July. The ChocOats line feature a combination of 24 percent Finnish gluten-free oats in place of dairy milk, raw chocolate, and coconut palm sugar. “Turned out that adding more and more oats to the recipe enabled us to reduce sugar and this is something we’re super excited about,” Goodio founder Jukka Peltola told VegNews. “Hopefully ChocOats acts as a gateway for many chocolate lovers to get into organically and ethically produced quality chocolate.” ChocOats will be available in four flavors: Original Blond, Cool Mint, Sweet Licorice, and Wild Blueberry. Large chocolate companies are heeding the dairy-free shift with new, cruelty-free chocolate lines, including Ritter Sport’s vegan chocolate bars and Cadbury Heir’s vegan Avocado Dark Chocolate Bar.
