California-based chain Nékter Juice Bar announced this week the launch of a series of new small-batch vegan ice cream “Skoop” flavors. While the shop debuted a non-dairy PB Brownie flavor (which contains honey) this week, the following five flavors—which it will launch every week until August 20—will be completely free of animal products. On July 23, the shop will debut the coconut milk-based Coconut Matcha flavor, followed by the agave nectar-sweetened Berry Hibiscus flavor on July 30. The Red Velvet flavor (made with cocoa and colored with beets) will debut on August 6, with Fresh Strawberry (August 13) and Sea Salt Caramel (August 20) to follow. “Not all vegan ice creams are created equal,” Nékter Juice Bar CEO Steve Schulze said. “Just as Nékter has reinvented the juice bar experience, we have redefined vegan ice cream with intense flavor, a lush creamy texture and the ability to handcraft it fresh each day.” The chain—which is planning to expand to 150 more locations by 2020—will serve the vegan flavors until they are “all ‘skooped’ up.”
