The nutritional yeast industry will grow substantially by 2027, according to a new report compiled by market research firm Fact.MR. The report explained that growth in the industry is driven by a boom in veganism across multiple demographics, stating that 17 percent of the US population between the ages of 15 to 70 is currently consuming plant-based products such as nutritional yeast. “With the increasing preference for vegan food across the globe,” the report states, “the demand and consumption [of] nutritional yeast is expected to significantly increase in the years to follow.” This report follows similar market research findings that have predicted that the tempeh industry would reach $5.8 billion by 2026 and valued the tofu industry at $24 billion by 2022.
