Los Angeles-based ice cream brand Coolhaus will launch a line of 13 vegan ice cream products in Spring 2019. Made from a base of peas, brown rice, and cocoa butter, the ice cream will be available in pints and ice cream cookie sandwiches in flavors such as Peanut Butter Fudge Chip, Horchata Breakfast, Dirty Mint Chip, Salted Caramel Crunch, Mocha Marcona Almond Fudge, and Chocolate Campfire S’mores. “We wanted to do it differently by bringing more uniqueness flavor-wise, innovation in terms of ingredients, and make a super-premium vegan ice cream sandwich—not just pints,” Coolhaus founder and CEO Natasha Case told VegNews. “There is truly, truly nothing like it on the shelf.” The women-led brand first launched in 2009 serving from a mobile ice cream truck, and has since expanded to packaged pints available in more than 6,000 grocery stores. Case is currently working with Whole Foods Market to launch the new vegan line in April 2019, before expanding nationwide to other partnership grocery stores.
