Toronto’s upscale vegan eatery Planta is listed as one of the most-booked restaurants during the world-renowned Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), according to online reservation website OpenTable. Known as the largest publicly attended film festival, this year’s TIFF event occurred from September 6 to 16 and attracted celebrities and film fans from around the globe. Known as a hotspot for vegan stars, Planta had a packed guest list that included actors Jessica Chastain and Gabriel Macht, who dined on popular dishes such as the Middle Eastern–inspired Habibi Salad and the Planta Burger. “Planta has always been a celebrity favorite,” Planta Restaurants Founder Steven Salm told VegNews. “Planta offers TIFF-goers an elevated dining experience with a purpose—a sustainable meal that takes animals off the plate.” Earlier this year, Planta opened its first United States location in Miami, FL.
