Vegan actor Jerome Flynn—known for his role as Bronn on popular series Game of Thrones—urges fans to go vegan in 2019. Flynn partnered with animal-rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to create a new video that exposes the cruelty inherent in the meat, dairy, and egg industries, highlighting the suffering that all animals bred for food endure on farms. “If we’re true to our own values, can we really justify inflicting all this suffering and violence on these emotionally sensitive, smart individuals just for a fleeting moment of taste?” Flynn asks in the video. “I don’t think so. Please, join me in rejecting this cruelty. Join me in choosing healthy, ethical, vegan meals.” Flynn explained during a recent interview with PETA UK that he began his vegan journey in college. “I actually fell in love with somebody at college who was a vegan, and she brought me some PETA leaflets,” he says. “It was educational stuff about the way animals are treated, and I had no idea … [We’re] not really educated to link the food on our plate to the animals [who] we love.”
