The Hatchet Inn—Bristol, England’s oldest pub that dates back to 1606—now exclusively serves vegan food. The pub partnered with vegan pop-up kitchen Soy Ahoy to offer comfort food such as fully loaded nachos with cashew sour cream and vegan mozzarella, a vegan chicken burger with deep-fried vegan calamari rings, smoked gouda, and sriracha mayonnaise, along with tofu skewers, and mac and cheese. On Sundays, the pub will offer a fully vegan Sunday roast with dishes such as house-made seitan pigs-in-blankets, vegan chicken, and cauliflower-and-broccoli cheese bakes with creamy cashew cheese. “We stopped doing in-house food earlier this year and instead welcomed our first ever pop-up kitchen called Soy Ahoy,” Keshia Davies, The Hatchet Inn events manager and bartender, told media outlet Bristol Live. The pub recently hosted its first Sunday roast dinner and it completely sold out with 60 people booked for reservations.
