Arnold Schwarzenegger took to social media this week to commend comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan for keeping an open mind about the benefits of following a plant-based diet. In November, Rogan released an episode of his “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast featuring paleo expert Chris Kresser, who spent the entirety of the episode “debunking” claims made in documentary The Game Changers. The film—which features Schwarzenegger—follows a diverse group of elite athletes that have thrived on a plant-based diet with the aim of dispelling the myth that consumption of animal products is key for athletic performance. This month, Rogan invited The Game Changers producer James Wilks to his podcast after realizing Kresser’s views were one-sided. During the nearly four-hour episode, Wilks debunked each of Kresser’s claims, inspiring Rogan to consider removing the initial episode of his podcast that criticized the film. Prior to airing the most recent podcast episode, Rogan took to Instagram to explain that Wilks “knocked it out of the park” in defending the facts he presented in The Game Changers. “Joe, I just want you to know I’m proud of you for always having an open mind and being willing to listen and change your mind about some things,” Schwarzenegger responded to Rogan’s Instagram post.
