The contents of the “Everyone Wins” Nominee Gift Bags were recently delivered to Academy Award nominees and this year’s haul included some very vegan products. Inside the bag, Oscar nominees will find 53 products and giveaways that are worth more than $100,000 and include memberships to exclusive cannabis social club MOTA Los Angeles, training sessions with celebrity personal trainer Alexis Seletzky, cruelty-free CBD-infused anti-aging products by CBDRxSupreme, and a precarious glow-in-the-dark poop emoji-shaped toilet plunger by Mister Poop. The bag also contains vegan-forward items such as a selection of treats made by Good Girl Chocolate (some made with cashew butter-based vegan caramel filling), vegan beauty products from Organic Hair Care, a year supply of vegan foundation by Oxygenetics, and color-changing vegan lipstick by Blush & Whimsy. This year, animal-rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) will also add its own touch to the Oscar swag-bag, which includes camera-equipped Agent for the Animals Spy Pens. “These stealthy recording devices fit discreetly into a shirt pocket and enable compassionate crew members, actors, or anyone else on a film or television set to document animal abuse and report it,” PETA described the gadget. As for cruelty-free eats, chef Wolfgang Puck has prepared a vegan-friendly Oscar’s after-party menu with dishes such as apple summer rolls, carrot “tartare,” veggie-stuffed sushi, Mediterranean-inspired pasta, and a wide selection of vegan desserts.
