Vegan actor Mena Massoud, who plays lead character Aladdin in the upcoming Disney live-action remake of Aladdin, will launch a free online vegan community on June 1, as part of his Evolving Vegan brand. The online community will offer free recipes created by Massoud, exclusive content such as interviews with chefs, restaurateurs, and fellow vegans from across North America, and an accompanying Facebook group for Evolving Vegan Club members to interact with one another. The Evolving Vegan brand aims to create an inclusive platform that rids labels such as “vegan,” “vegetarian,” or “omnivore” from vegan culture and instead focuses on “evolving” towards veganism. “We see the need to build an inclusive community for those wanting to evolve vegan,” Massoud told VegNews. “Our hope is to have users be able to learn from each other, give advice, share recipes, all while being moderated by the Evolving Vegan team.” The brand includes an apparel line and an IGTV travel series hosted by Massoud, and will soon launch a cookbook.
