The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) recently partnered with vegan meal kit brand MamaSezz to create vegan meal bundles that help prevent and treat cancer. “The American Institute for Cancer Research Bundle brings you the best food when you need it most,” says MamaSezz co-founder Meg Donahue. “This is the gold standard of plant-based meals: delicious, fresh, ready-made, delivered to your door.” Each bundle ($169) includes a seven-day eating plan, recipes, and ingredients for dishes such as Lentil Dahl with Quinoa, Turmeric Chickpea Scramble, and Moroccan Stew. AICR worked with MamaSezz to create the meals after releasing its report “Diet, Nutrition, Physical Activity and Cancer: A Global Perspective,” a review of cancer prevention research that points toward a plant-based diet for optimal health. “Following [the report’s] package of diet, exercise, and lifestyle recommendations is the best way you can lower your odds of getting cancer,” AICR Director of Nutrition Programs Alice Bender, MS, RDN said. “Making lifestyle changes takes some effort, but the rewards can be life-changing.” The meal bundles will be available to order online through MamaSezz and the company will donate 10 percent of proceeds from the AICR meals to help fund the institute’s cancer research efforts.
