Cardi B Launches Vegan-Leather Fashion Line

American rap artist Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar (known professionally as “Cardi B”) recently launched an affordable vegan clothing line in partnership with online retailer Fashion Nova. The Fashion Nova x Cardi B line, the rapper’s second collaboration with the brand, is available online only and prices range from $29 to $99. The new line emphasizes classic boudoir attire with corsets, latex, and a lot of vegan leather. It draws inspiration from the 1980s and ‘90s and is balanced with “themes of empowerment and rebellion,” according to Almánzar. The line features items such as the “I’m In A Boss Mood” white, long-sleeve shirt dress with a buckle waist belt; “Mouth Still Say What It Wants To” vegan pebbled patent leather jacket with exaggerated puffed sleeves and a belt; “I’m First, She’s Last” shiny vegan leather skinny pants; and “Diamonds On My Neck” mini skirt with a matching peplum top complete with cut-out and lace detail. “This one is different than the first because we have more color. We have more cutouts; it’s more fun,” Almánzar told media outlet ET. “It’s more summertime, but it also has that Matrix look that I like.” Last year, Almánzar announced to her 26-million Instagram followers, that she was trying plant-based foods in an effort to be healthier during her pregnancy.
