Beginning in June, California-based vegan meat company Beyond Meat is teaming up with Tovala to bring plant-based meals to Tovala customers nationwide. Tovala makes a smart countertop oven that pairs with chef-crafted meals so customers can enjoy home-cooked meals by scanning a barcode. The six meals featuring Beyond Meat will be prepared by Tovala professional chefs and delivered to customers’ doorsteps every week throughout the month of June. The month-long special will offer two vegan dishes: Coconut Kale Curry with Beyond Beef Crumbles and Roasted Vegetables; and Sweet Soy Stir-Fry with Beyond Beef Crumbles, Brown Rice, and Chow Mein Noodles. Customers cook each meal by scanning the meal’s barcode on the Tovala Oven which automatically recognizes the meal and cooks it in 20 minutes or less. Tovala will also add eight recipes featuring Beyond Meat to its mobile app’s recipe library. Tovala customers can prep these recipes at home with groceries they purchase themselves, and then cook them perfectly in the Tovala Oven. “From the beginning, our mission has been to make it easier for people to eat well,” David Rabie, CEO and co-founder of Tovala, said. “We know that people are looking to add more plant-based options to their diet and many of our customers identify as flexitarians. We put a lot of thought into who to select as our first brand partner and ultimately felt that Beyond Meat was the ideal choice. We’re excited to partner with Beyond Meat to give our customers more choices and make it completely effortless for them to try delicious plant-based alternatives to dishes that traditionally feature animal protein.”
