Starting today, fast-food chain Pizza Pizza will offer the Super Plant pizza at its more than 750 locations across Canada. The new menu item is made with a cauliflower-based crust and is topped with vegan pepperoni made by Yves Veggie Cuisine, vegan chorizo by Field Roast Grain Meat Co., and dairy-based mozzarella—which can be substituted for the chain’s vegan cheese for a fully plant-based pizza. “Most people personalize their pizza and consumers want options; that’s something we’ve continually offered consumers, putting quality and great taste at the forefront of introducing new options,” Alyssa Huggins, Vice President of Marketing at Pizza Pizza, said. “With the launch of the Super Plant Pizza and the plant-based protein options we are responding to our customers’ ever-changing needs, namely the flexitarian movement, but also growth in consumers identifying as vegan or vegetarian.” Stateside, pizza chain Little Caesars partnered with Impossible Foods to create its newest option: The Impossible Supreme pizza topped with specially developed plant-based Impossible Sausage, which is available at select locations in Ft. Meyers, FL, Albuquerque, NM, and Yakima, WA.
