This week, beauty brand Dermablend Professional announced its commitment to become a fully vegan brand. Founded in 1981 by dermatologist Craig Roberts, Dermablend worked with animal-rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to certify that its formulas are not tested on animals from inception to its manufacturing process. Instead, the brand uses 13 non-animal methods to test its products effectively. Additionally, Dermablend committed to removing all animal-derived ingredients in its products to transition into a fully vegan brand. “People are looking for brands that align with their values and our goal is to empower our consumers with the confidence and knowledge they need to make the best decisions for their beauty routines,” Malena Higuera, General Manager at Dermablend Professional, said. “Joining PETA’s list of cruelty-free brands is a clear symbol of Dermablend Professional’s commitment to animal welfare and a world without animal testing.” Dermablend—which is not sold in China—will launch its reformulated vegan product line later this year.
