Startup Raises $10 Million to Create Digital Vegan Economy

Online vegan community VeganNation recently launched its platform internationally after successfully closing a $10 million funding round from private investors. VeganNation is the first-ever online vegan economy with its own traceable digital currency that aims to unite vegans worldwide. Through the web and mobile platform (iOS and Android), members can discover, share, and purchase vegan products via its marketplace, social forum, and meal-sharing service. It provides a one-stop shop for vegan content, restaurants and food-delivery services, and allows members to organize meetups and purchase products and services with the VeganNation currency and digital wallet. “This is a major milestone in uniting all environmentally conscious consumers worldwide into a nation founded on sustainable development, generosity, and kindness towards all living beings,” Isaac Thomas, CEO and co-founder of VeganNation, said. “And, undoubtedly, another huge step toward successfully establishing the year of the vegan.” Prior to its global launch, VeganNation welcomed vegan actor Jerome Flynn—who portrayed Bronn on HBO series Game of Thrones—to its advisory board.
