New company Ethyl Ambrosia recently opened a vegan Jell-O-style shot tasting room in Dripping Springs, TX—just west of Austin. Customers can sample the company’s “gel” shots, which are made with seaweed instead of gelatin, in a variety of flavors such as rosé, Moscow mule, mojito, and citrus punch. “The goal is that [the products] give consumers the sense of freedom they had in their younger years,” company founder Dee Dee Bryant told Eater. “But with the quality and class they deserve today.” The shots—which are sold in a push-up container that resembles a miniature wine glass and contain 15-percent alcohol—can also be ordered online for delivery in Texas or for pick up from the tasting room. The company currently only ships to Texas residents but aims to expand its distribution to other states.
