Performance Foodservice (a division of Performance Food Group) has launched a proprietary line of plant-based protein products called Green Origin, made exclusively by Greenleaf Foods—owner of plant-based brands Lightlife and Field Roast. The new Green Origin portfolio includes plant-based burgers, grinds, breakfast sausages, and nuggets created for use by the foodservice sector. Green Origin products are free of artificial flavors and many are soy- and gluten-free.

Plant-based for the masses

While the company has yet to disclose which foodservice outlets will carry Green Origin, Performance Foodservice works with more than 200,000 foodservice locations, including independent and chain restaurants, schools, business and industry locations, healthcare facilities, vending distributors, office coffee service distributors, big box retailers, theaters, and convenience stores.
