This holiday season, Spike Mendelsohn—of Bravo’s Top Chef fame—prepared a special vegan feast, which is available to order for pick up from locations of his vegan chain PLNT Burger. The feast features three courses: a Winter Green Salad (made with root vegetables, pumpkin seeds, and Follow Your Heart Goat Cheese and dressed in a sherry vinaigrette); an entrée course of Truffled Mushroom Wellington with Red Wine Jus (which comes with sides of citrus-glazed carrots, maple-glazed Brussels sprouts, and apples with candied walnuts; and potato and kohlrabi gratin); and a chocolate peppermint mousse for dessert. The holiday menu is available as a single plate ($29.99), a four-serving meal ($110), or an eight-serving meal ($200).

All takeout orders must be placed by noon local time on December 21 for pick up on December 24 (between 2pm and 4pm) and can be collected from PLNT Burger locations in Tysons Corner, VA; Wynnewood, PA; Washington, DC (South Capitol); and Maryland (Columbia and Silver Spring).

PLNT Burger
Mendelsohn created the PLNT Burger concept after Seth Goldman—the former Executive Chairman at Beyond Meat—introduced him to the vegan Beyond Burger. In 2019, Mendelsohn opened his first location of PLNT Burger inside Whole Foods Market in Silver Spring, MD where he serves a variety of Beyond Burgers topped with Follow Your Heart’s vegan cheese, mushroom bacon, and guacamole, alongside Beyond Meat-based chili, Beyond Sausage-stuffed hot dogs, and vegan chicken sandwiches made with crispy oyster mushrooms. Within one year, Mendelsohn has expanded the concept to include seven locations inside Whole Foods Markets in the Washington, DC area and Pennsylvania and recently announced plans to open additional, stand-alone outposts in 2021.

Wait, there’s more
In addition to creating festive vegan meals and opening new locations of PLNT Burger, Mendelsohn teamed up with Goldman on a new retail brand of vegan jerky called Eat the Change Mushroom Jerky, which will launch in five flavors—Sea Salt + Cracked Pepper, Hickory Smokehouse, Teriyaki Ginger, Maple Mustard, and Habanero BBQ—at retailers nationwide in January.
