Today, New York City-born rapper Cardi B donated 20,000 bottles of OWYN vegan meal replacements to NYC hospital workers and ambulance staff—who are currently working around the clock to treat COVID-19 patients. “We’re told she wanted to help the workers who, in most cases, don’t even get a chance to eat during their shifts,” TMZ reports. OWYN (which stands for “Only What You Need”) offers a variety of vegan protein drinks packed with 20 grams of protein per serving blended with superfood greens to provide optimal nutrition in flavors such as Turmeric Golden Mylk, Cookies N’ Cream, and Strawberry Banana. The brand recently launched dairy-free chocolate milk aimed at children that features 80 percent less sugar than traditional flavored milk and is sweetened with monk fruit. During the month of April, OWYN is donating a portion of its online sales to Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), an organization working to make food available for Americans with allergies.
